  1. This archive contains 2 files that contain additions to CMDPOST.CPM and
  2. CMDUSER.CPM files that were requested by our users.  Note: the files are not
  3. replacements for CMDPOST.CPM and CMDUSER.CPM.  They are only new sections that
  4. you will have to add to your existing files.
  5.  
  6. The features implemented in these files are:
  7.  
  8.    1. Automatically load the programs listed on the LOAD= line in WIN.INI when
  9.       Command Post is the primary shell.  Command Post ignores the LOAD= line
  10.       when it is the primary shell.  This is implemented via an AUTOEXEC
  11.       section for CMDUSER.CPM.
  12.  
  13.    2. Provide a way for users to define and change the default user interface,
  14.       i.e., Command Post menus or Program Manager icons.  Note: this requires
  15.       changes to CMDPOST.CPM and CMDUSER.CPM.  A new item is defined in the
  16.       [CMDPOST] section of WIN.INI, namely "UserInterface".  Its values and
  17.       meanings are:
  18.  
  19.       UserInterface=Menus  <==Command Post menus only (default)
  20.       UserInterface=Icons  <==Program Manager icons with iconized Command Post
  21.       UserInterface=Both   <==Command Post menus with iconized Program Manager
  22.  
  23.       As implemented, a new item is added to the Command Post Options... entry
  24.       in the Main Command Post menu, namely user interface.  Upon selecting
  25.       the new item, you will be able to select the desired default user
  26.       interface.  The UserInterface item in WIN.INI will be changed to reflect
  27.       your choice and the current user interface will be immediately changed
  28.       to reflect your choice, with one exception: if the Program Manager is
  29.       currently loaded and you select Command Post menus only, the Program
  30.       Manager will be iconized for the duration of your Windows session.
  31.  
  32.       The addition to CMDUSER.CPM is an AUTOEXEC section that implements your
  33.       selected user interface when Command Post is initially loaded.  The
  34.       additions to CMDPOST.CPM implement the user interface selection feature.
  35.  
  36.    3. Add a new Command Post menu for Help.  The menu allows the user to
  37.       select Command Post or Windows help.  This addition requires that a new
  38.       menu be defined in CMDUSER.CPM, namely &Help.
  39.  
  40. The 2 Command Post files in this archive are:
  41.  
  42.    1. CMDPOST.XXX - additions to CMDPOST.CPM for the user interface
  43.       selection feature describe above in item 2.
  44.  
  45.    2. CMDUSER.XXX - additions to CMDUSER.CPM for the autoloading, default user
  46.       interface, and Help menu features described above in items 1, 2, and 3.

  48. Hopefully these additions can be as useful to you as they are to our users.
